Smooth rental process, minor hiccup

I rented an Automatikwagen for a business trip. The online booking was very intuitive, and I received an email confirmation quickly. Decent rental, but could be clearer

I rented a Kombi for a week. The booking process online was mostly clear, and the price with the Vollkaskoversicherung ohne Selbstbeteiligung was reasonable. Pick-up at the airport was quick, and the car was in good condition. However, I found the information about Grenzfahrten a little vague on the website when I was planning a cross-border trip. It would be helpful if that was more explicitly laid out. Otherwise, the rental itself went fine, and the car served its purpose.

Yeah, pretty sure you need a credit card for the deposit. I tried using a debit once and it was a no-go.

I think they're pretty strict on the credit card for the deposit part. It's how they secure things. Maybe worth checking their site for specifics if you don't have one, but I've always used a CC.

Anyone know how the ADAC discount works with Avis? Is it a big saving, and can I stack it with other deals?

ADAC usually gets you a decent chunk off, like 10-15% sometimes. But combining it with other stuff? Nah, Avis generally only lets you use one discount code at a time.

It's usually an AWD number you plug in. I've gotten good rates with it, but don't expect to add another coupon on top, they're pretty clear about no stacking.
